There’s a common sense process to selling, with a headline being the first and most important stept.
If you think about what draws you into a value proposition it always begins with a clear statement of value. This is what’s called the headline.
- The headline draws your reader into the next line (subhead).
- The subhead connects them to the first paragraph (copy).
- The first paragraph engages them with your offer.
- Your offer (if it contains value) results in a sale.

As some of my clients may already know, I’m not that responsive before 8 am. Sometimes I sound like I’m speaking a foreign language before 10 am - an ancient dialect characterized by grunts, pops, and clicks.
This “may” be because I often stay up very late working on client marketing projects. I’m also working on our company’s internet marketing projects. The creative juices have always seemed to really start flowing after 8 at night.
Up until this morning when I read a particular sidebar article in the latest edition of Wired I’ve not made my work habits public but as of today I feel justified…
Night owls are more creative.
Artists, writers, and coders typically fire on all cylinders by crashing near dawn and awakening at the crack of noon. In one study, “evening people” almost universally slam-dunked a standardized creativity test. Their early-bird brethren struggled for passing scores.
So if you’re calling me at 6:45 am and wondering why I’m not answering your calls like that particularly eager stock broker of yours, well - just take comfort knowing that I’m thinking of you well into the night!

This has always annoyed me. First with my Blackberry and now with my iPhone: The inability to send a Google Maps link from your computer to your phone version of Google Maps. It always requires a re-typing in of the address.
With iPhone Sender you get a bookmark for Safari or an addon for Firefox that formats the link for the iPhone in an email it will send to you. Click on the link in your iPhone’s email and - voila! - it’s done.
Check er out! Clever…

We just launched a new website for a client called Cutting Edge Laser, Inc. These guys rock the metal fabrication and laser cutting business and have a great story to tell. There’s not a whole of content in place on the site as we didn’t have a chance to get it all dialed in before launch but keep your eyes on these guys. With a good marketing plan in place for content generation, use of video, and perhaps some PPC they’ll be showing up all over the place!
We built the site over the Wordpress CMS employing a few crafty and custom theme tweaks.
